Chegg Time Entry Bookmarklet

What Is This?

Have you ever wished you didn't have to do so much clicking/typing when you enter your time in Chegg's Workday site? If so, this page will let you create a "bookmarklet" to speed things up, and save you from (most of) that clicking/typing, by doing it for you when you click the bookmarklet.

What is a Bookmarklet?

A bookmarklet is a small script that is stored inside a bookmark on your browser. You can generate one using this page, save it in a bookmark in your browser, and then you can click that bookmark whenever you want to use it.

How Do I Make a Time Entry Bookmarklet?

Simply enter in the appointment's length of time, then type in the values for the three time entry fields (Format, Discipline, and Course Type), and hit the button to generate your bookmarklet.

How Do I Use My New Bookmarklet?

  1. First, create a bookmark (in your browser) to any page: it doesn't matter which page.
  2. Edit your bookmark (the details of this will vary by browser, but usually you right-click on it and choose an option like "Edit").
  3. Copy the generated bookmarklet code (below) and paste it into (ie. replace) the bookmark's URL. Then save your bookmark.
  4. You can now click on this bookmark at any time (while you have an open time entry on the Chegg Workday site) to have it complete the fields for you.

What If I Still Have Questions/Issues?

Send a private message on Slack to Jeremy Walker. Please be aware that this was a hobby project however, and it is not officially supported by Chegg.
